Make a day of it…

If you’re visiting one of our lawyers or independent solicitors at our Wakefield office, why not enjoy the rest of your day exploring some of Wakefield’s nearby attractions? There’s plenty to see and do in this area – and we have a few top recommendations! On a sunny day, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a must-see – it’s free entry although there are parking charges. This fantastic open-air gallery displays work by British and international artists, which include Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. There’s also a lovely restaurant on the upper level of the Centre which offers one of the best views in Yorkshire. Check the website as the exhibitions may be closed through the winter months.

Another popular destination in Wakefield for a sunny day is Newmillerdam Country Park – also a great place to visit through the colder months where the Autumn colours make for a spectacular display. This provides a beautiful walk around the lake where there is also a historical boathouse and arboretum. Or take a trip to Wakefield’s Nostell Priory which is managed by the National Trust. This is an 18th-century architectural masterpiece with landscape park and stunning gardens – plus a lovely cafe in the Courtyard and a thoughtfully stocked shop. Enjoy your day in Wakefield!
