If you’re taking a trip into Chester to visit our offices, why not make a day of it? Chester is a city full of historic treasures and there’s plenty to see and do. Here you can see the most complete City Walls across Britain which date from the Roman occupation 2,000 years ago. If you’re feeling energetic, why not do the two mile walk of the walls and at the same time, see more of this beautiful city? For those who love to shop, the Rows have a lot to offer. The oldest shopping façade in England, these magnificent 700 year old medieval marvels once provided a shop front for shoemakers and iron mongers, alongside fruit, root and herb markets and horse, cloth and cheese fairs.
Chester’s beautiful 1,000 year old Cathedral is more than worth an hour or two of your time – it’s free to enter, and you’ll find there are regular events and exhibitions on site. There’s also the opportunity to climb right to the top of the central tower from where, at 125 feet above the ground, you will be able to see one city, two countries and five counties.
