Paul King welcomed to the Leader’s Council

Leaders Council
April King is proud to announce that our CEO Paul King is now a member of the Leader’s Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Paul was welcomed to the Council following an interview with the Council last week when he discussed the impact of Covid-19 on the firm.

Chaired by former Home Secretary and Education Secretary, Lord Blunkett, The Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland brings together the most influential figures from across the country. It celebrates the hard work and achievements of the nation’s unsung leaders, while laying the ground for the next generation.

Only leaders who are found to reflect the Leaders Council’s Charter of Principles are permitted to become members. The Charter of Principles is a non-negotiable set of five core pledges which are:

“As a member of The Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, I pledge:

    • To share my knowledge with the wider community in order to raise standards and
improve leadership skills across the country.
    • To offer my honest and considered advice to anyone who should, in good faith,
      seek it.
    • To treat all associates, partners, employees, suppliers and consumers with the
      utmost courtesy and respect.
    • To make every conceivable effort to deal exclusively with organisations and
      individuals of repute.
    • To commit, wherever possible, to making a positive social and environmental
      impact.”

From the CEO of a multinational bank to the founder of an innovative new start-up, members of the Council are the people who take risks, create jobs and empower their colleagues.

Members come from across the country, from a variety of professional backgrounds. What unites them is a commitment to uphold best practice in their professional dealings and a desire to contribute to the public policy arena through intelligent discussion.

Of his invitation to the Council and membership, Paul said:

“I am delighted to join the Council and I am committed to the values embodied in the charter of principles. I have spent nearly 30 years leading my firm forward and I welcome the opportunity of sharing my knowledge and experience with the community.”

Leaders Council members regularly appear on podcasts alongside national and international figures from the worlds of business, politics and sport. They are often approached for an insightful and timely comment on a particularly pressing issue of the day.

The podcasts are hosted on a variety of major audio streaming platforms – including Spotify, iTunes and YouTube. You can listen to Paul’s recent interview here.
