The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) is recognised in England and Wales as one of the three core approved regulators of the legal profession alongside barristers and solicitors. It regulates 20,000 Chartered Legal Executive lawyers, paralegals and other legal practitioners in England and Wales.
The CILEx National Awards showcase and celebrate the excellent work, and achievements, of CILEx members and stakeholder partners.
The awards recognise individuals and teams that are providing exemplary service, advice and support to those seeking access to justice. In addition, the awards celebrate the innovative recruitment and professional development practices that are widening access to a career in the legal profession to a more diverse audience.
The Diversity and Inclusion Award award recognises organisations which embrace the benefit of recruiting, retaining and supporting the development of a diverse workforce; and have a workforce which understands the needs of its client base and is best placed to reassure and encourage clients to seek access to justice.
April King Legal is committed to employing a diverse workforce and recognises the value of this in gaining a competitive edge over other firms. The firm wants people to be themselves at work, regardless of their age, race, religion, belief, disability, gender, sexual orientation, social background or other such factors. By creating an inclusive working environment and through its approach to recruitment and internal policies, the firm ensures that diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our practice and all staff are valued.
Jen Wiss-Carline, a Chartered Legal Executive with the firm, has also received recognition as a finalist for the CILEx Legal Expert Award 2018. This award is made to a CILEX member who provides an exceptional standard of technical expertise in their specialist area of practice.
We look forward to attending the CILEX Awards ceremony in September and wish all other shortlisted candidates the very best of luck.
