April King is currently working with its developers to finalise an online booking system which will allow prospective clients to book an appointment with one of April King’s trained lawyers.
The new system, which is at testing stage but close to launch, allows those interested in booking an appointment to choose their nearest office and the days and times that they are free. The system then shows the user a range of available appointments which they can book ‘live’.
Once they have chosen their preferred day and time, the system emails them a confirmation of their appointment.
April King’s Legal Services Manager Jonathan Maskew explained:
“The appointment booking system allows prospective clients of the firm to choose convenient days and times to see one of April King’s lawyers. Our system then shows the client all available appointments and allows them to instantly make a booking, without needing to speak to someone.”
Those who don’t want to use the system will still be able to make a booking over the phone or by email.
“The booking system is just phase one of an overhaul in the way clients can book appointments with us. Phase 2 will see the introduction of our very own Artificial Intelligent Bot, which will guide clients in the booking process. The client will be able to speak to the Bot as if it were a regular person and the Bot will book an appointment for them, without them needing to use the booking system at all.”
Jonathan has previously been involved with the design and launch of Billy Bot, another Artificial Intelligence bot that can get you a quote for a Barrister or Mediator.
“April King’s Artificial Intelligence Bot will allow us to deliver a better service to both current and prospective clients. Appointments can be booked at any time night or day without the need to speak to someone on the phone. The client can see the full range of appointments available and browse alternative days and locations to suit their calendar. The Bot will also be able to offer the client information such as a downloadable brochure based on their circumstances.”
“Whilst we acknowledge the route of the traditional approach for all clients, we need to listen to our clients and add value with complimentary added value services which take advantage of the innovative emerging legaltech routes including the greater use of artificial intelligence and chatbots.”
The April King team plan to roll out the online appointment booking system for some offices initially, before expanding to cover all of its 42 locations.
